The Women's Legal Centre is a non-profit, independently funded law centre started by a group of women lawyers. The WLC has been established to advance women's rights by conducting constitutional litigation and advocacy on gender issues.

Areas of Activity


The Women's Legal Centre litigates cases and conducts law reform in the following areas: Child Sexual Abuse; Customary Law; Domestic Partnerships; Maintenance Issues; Muslim Personal Law; Unfair Dismissals; Violence Against Women; Women's Access To Resources

Litigation

 
These sections contain heads of arguments and other legal pleadings which have been used in previous cases argued by the Women's Legal Centre. Any litigation conducted by the Women's legal Centre should advance substantive equality for women, and must have a wide impact.

Manual in terms of the Promotion of Access to Information Act

 
As part of our commitment to access to information, and as we are required in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, the Women's Legal Centre has published a manual setting out information concerning the Women's Legal Centre which the public can access in terms of the Act, the process to follow in requesting this information as well as applicable fees.
